March 21, 2009

The theme for our 2009 Cabaret was Hittin’ the Road.

Kate made a poster using her little music note man.

Bonnie made a poster thanking all our sponsors. We got more sponsors this year, even with the economic downturn and we got our first corporate sponsor, Fairytale Brownies.

Ginny hard at work on the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Jean wore her cowboy hat for the practice.

Katherine and Elizabeth practiced their song with Don looking on.

On the night of the performance, Diana was ready to take tickets.

The tables were full of goodies.

Lydia and Harriet, from the Green Sanctuary Committee were ready to keep the tables neat the the glassware ready.

Bert was one of our bartenders.

Sarah and Mike, our stage techs, had their chart ready and knew what they were supposed to do. The tables were decorated with flowers, vehicles and roads!

We started the show with a rousing rendition of Cabaret.

For the performance, Jean didn't wear her hat, but she still belted out her song, Don't Fence Me In.

The Rockettes of Ages were joined by the other choir women for Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Dave and Bonnie belted out Ghost Riders in the Sky.

The tenors and basses sang We Sail the Ocean Blue. Smoot got to be the captain, and wear his father's authentic uniform jacket.

Stewardship co-chairs Donna and Susan led a special version of a song from Chorus Line.

Smoot tried to keep up with the kicks!

The audience really got into it.

They were accompanied by a special riff by Stan on the electric and Richard and Duke on acoustic guitars.

Duke and Richard sang On the Road Again. (Bill was supposed to sing with them, but he was sick.)

The choir women were menacing in Hit the Road, Jack.
